Ottawa Senators defenseman Jake Sanderson is set to return to the lineup on Wednesday against the Florida Panthers after missing eight games with a lower-body injury. Sanderson was injured in the season opener against the Toronto Maple Leafs after playing just under five minutes. His return coincides with former Senators captain Brady Tkachuk playing his first game back in Ottawa since joining Florida.
Sanderson's return provides vital reinforcement for Ottawa, as captain Thomas Chabot is sidelined for up to two weeks with an upper-body injury. Sanderson is slated to partner with Artem Zub on the top pairing and run the primary power play unit as the Senators (6-3-0) battle the Panthers (5-2-2) in a key division clash.
