The New York Giants are hitting the road in first place in the NFC East but handing the keys to their third quarterback in the past six games when they touch down in Houston to face the Texans on Sunday.
New York Giants head coach John Harbaugh announced that quarterback J.J. McCarthy will start over Jameis Winston this Sunday against the Houston Texans. McCarthy entered late in last week's 34-27 loss to the New Orleans Saints, throwing for 243 yards and leading three consecutive scoring drives after Winston threw two interceptions. The first-place Giants travel to Houston seeking to maintain their NFC East lead with their third starting quarterback of the season.
The Houston Texans enter the matchup on a two-game winning streak behind quarterback C.J. Stroud, who ranks second in the NFL with 1,714 passing yards. Houston's offense will welcome back wide receiver Tank Dell from a severe knee injury sustained in December 2024, joining recent trade acquisition Marvin Harrison Jr., while the Giants deal with multiple injuries across their offensive line and defense.
