  • Brito recorded a 2.97 ERA across 69.2 minor-league innings in 2026 after recovering from a 2025 elbow surgery.

The Story in 60 Seconds

Lincoln Zdunich evaluates San Diego Padres pitcher Jhony Brito, assigning him a C- overall grade for the 2026 season. Although Brito performed strongly in the minor leagues across three levels, his limited big-league action was largely due to a deep San Diego bullpen following his recovery from elbow surgery.

Brito posted a 2.97 ERA across 69.2 minor-league innings and logged a 3.00 ERA in nine major-league relief innings. Zdunich argues that Brito could factor into the Padres' starting rotation plans in 2027 if he shows consistency and earns a spot during Spring Training.
