The Story in 60 Seconds

The Premier League's Key Match Incidents panel ruled that Crystal Palace's second goal in their 3-1 win over Nottingham Forest should have been disallowed for handball. Jefferson Lerma's header appeared to deflect off Anan Khalaili's arm before crossing the line. The independent five-person panel voted 3:2 that referee Peter Bankes made an incorrect on-field decision by awarding the goal.

Despite the error, the panel unanimously voted 5:0 that VAR Darren England was correct not to intervene. The panel determined the footage readily available did not provide conclusive evidence to overturn the call under the clear and obvious error threshold. Dan Ndoye had initially put Forest ahead before Palace completed their comeback.
