Veteran catcher and designated hitter Mitch Garver has officially retired from Major League Baseball after a 10-season career. The 35-year-old concluded his playing days following an August 2026 release by the Seattle Mariners and a brief stint with the New York Yankees' Triple-A affiliate. Over 701 career MLB games, Garver hit 110 home runs with 324 RBIs.
Garver began his career with the Minnesota Twins after being drafted in the ninth round in 2013, winning a Silver Slugger in 2019. He later earned a World Series championship with the Texas Rangers in 2023, hitting 19 regular-season home runs and three in the postseason before signing with Seattle.
