The Buffalo Bills entered their Week 7 bye holding a 5-1 record and sitting atop the AFC East, securing a consensus top-four spot across most national NFL power rankings. Most major outlets placed Buffalo at either No. 3 or No. 4 following their road victory over the Las Vegas Raiders. The primary exception was USA Today, which ranked the team ninth.
Buffalo's high ranking comes despite noticeable struggles on defense, where the team ranks 28th in points allowed and 31st in yards surrendered. To compensate, quarterback Josh Allen and the offense lead the NFL in scoring with 32.8 points per game, keeping Buffalo behind only the undefeated Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC standings.
