Is this Pakistan’s most promising limited-overs all-rounder since the early days of Shahid Afridi?
Key Things to Know
  • Arafat Minhas produced a stellar performance against England, scoring 59 runs and taking 6/40 in an ODI.
  • He became only the third Pakistani player after Shahid Afridi and Abdul Razzaq to score a fifty and take five wickets in one ODI.
  • Minhas achieved the all-round milestone in just five matches, faster than any other player in ODI history.
The Story in 60 Seconds

Pakistan all-rounder Arafat Minhas has established himself as a rising international star following an outstanding all-round display against England in October 2026. Playing in just his fifth One Day International in Rawalpindi, the 21-year-old struck 59 off 58 balls before capturing figures of 6/40. The performance made him only the third Pakistani cricketer, following Shahid Afridi and Abdul Razzaq, to register a fifty and take at least five wickets in the same ODI.

Minhas previously made history during his ODI debut against Australia on May 30, 2026, claiming 5/32 to break Zakir Khan's 41-year-old national record. Following his recent heroics, the Multan-born slow left-arm spinner and left-handed batsman climbed 89 spots to reach 68th in the ICC ODI all-rounder rankings.
