After a disappointing season at the plate, Royce Lewis must improve his pitch selection as Twins weigh their options at first base.

Minnesota Twins infielder Royce Lewis aims to correct his pitch selection and aggressive chasing at the plate following a disappointing 2026 campaign. Despite staying healthy and playing 140 games across the majors and minors, Lewis finished with a .227/.287/.380 slash line, 15 home runs, and an 85 wRC+ over 509 plate appearances.
The Twins face offseason decisions regarding their first-base production after finishing 28th in the majors with an 87 wRC+ at the position. General manager Jeremy Zoll noted that consistency remains the key for Lewis, with the club considering whether to keep him at first base, move him to second base, or explore a trade.
