Kessler was a strong complement to Luka Dončić, making all 12 of his field goal attempts while scoring 26 points in the Lakers win.

Walker Kessler made an exceptional debut for the Los Angeles Lakers, shooting a perfect 12-for-12 from the field to score 26 points in a 127-105 season-opening victory over the Golden State Warriors. The summer trade acquisition also added game-highs of nine rebounds and two blocks. Kessler's performance set an NBA record for the most field goal attempts without a miss in a season opener, featuring 10 dunks.
Luka Dončić led all scorers with 28 points, frequently connecting with Kessler on transition runs and alley-oops. The 22-point blowout was the Lakers' largest margin of victory in a season opener since 1972. Lakers head coach JJ Redick praised Kessler's transition running, while the Warriors struggled to contain the interior without injured center Kristaps Porziņģis.
