New York Giants general manager Joe Schoen can't get too comfortable after Chris Ballard's firing.

Michael Haney of GMEN HQ argues that New York Giants general manager Joe Schoen should view the Indianapolis Colts' firing of Chris Ballard as a warning. The Colts dismissed Ballard following a 2-4 start to the season, ending a tenure of nearly ten years that yielded only two playoff appearances.
Haney suggests that Schoen, like Ballard, has relied on a strong relationship with team ownership despite mixed results. While Schoen recently signed a contract extension through 2029, the writer stresses he must build winning rosters alongside new head coach John Harbaugh to secure his long-term future.
