With the Lakers named a landing spot for big man target and ex-Luka Doncic teammate Dwight Powell, Bronny James could hit the chopping block.

The Los Angeles Lakers could potentially part ways with guard Bronny James to create a roster spot for free-agent center Dwight Powell, according to Eli Gregorski of Heavy. Powell, who was recently waived by the Dallas Mavericks, has been identified by Fadeaway World's Fran Leiva as a realistic backup center target for head coach JJ Redick due to his established chemistry with Luka Doncic.
Because the Lakers' roster is currently full, adding Powell would require the front office to open a spot. Gregorski notes that the team could waive either James or Jaden Hardy to sign the 35-year-old veteran to provide frontcourt depth behind starting center Walker Kessler.
