The Pistons have no reason to sign Kevin Porter Jr, even if they need better backup guards.

PistonPowered's Swoosh Shrestha argues that the Detroit Pistons should avoid signing guard Kevin Porter Jr after he was recently waived by the Milwaukee Bucks. Although Detroit needs dynamic backcourt help off the bench, the writer believes Porter's history of poor efficiency and defensive limitations make him an unsuitable addition.
Despite Porter averaging 17 points, five rebounds, and seven assists last season, Shrestha highlights concerns regarding his 32% three-point shooting, excessive defensive gambling, and high-usage play style. The writer suggests Detroit should instead target more proven options who would not disrupt the development of young players like Ausar Thompson.
