Former MLB player Richard Butler and his wife face fraud charges for allegedly stealing $60,000 from families in a youth baseball scheme.

Former Major League Baseball player Richard Butler and his wife, Michelle, have been charged in connection with an alleged $60,000 youth baseball fraud scheme in Canada. The couple stands accused of collecting registration fees from families for training services through Butler's Ontario Devil Rays program that were never delivered.
Investigators allege roughly $60,000 was collected before being transferred to accounts linked to the couple. Families were falsely told the organization shut down due to bankruptcy, leading to charges including fraud over $5,000 and uttering a forged document against both individuals.
