Scott Boras hinted it won't take long for Tarik Skubal to sign a new contract ahead of an MLB lockout.

Agent Scott Boras suggested that impending free agents could sign quickly ahead of an anticipated MLB lockout, signaling an early resolution for pitcher Tarik Skubal. Boras stated that he can make an argument that it is clearly best for many teams to sign players before the current collective bargaining agreement expires on Dec. 1.
Motor City Bengals writer Katrina Stebbins argues that while the Detroit Tigers have been linked to the Skubal sweepstakes, their chances of signing him remain slim. Stebbins notes that contending suitors like the Los Angeles Dodgers and New York Mets are far more likely to aggressively pursue a permanent deal for the pitcher.
