The Uttarakhand left-arm spinner on the selectors who did not reach out, the Chennai five-for, and the years he spent as a coach with no team to play for…

Uttarakhand left-arm spinner Mayank Mishra spoke out about his disappointment after being left out of Central Zone's Duleep Trophy squad. Despite taking 59 wickets in eight Ranji Trophy matches last season—the second-highest tally in the competition—the 36-year-old was overlooked by selectors without any communication.
Mishra responded to the snub by claiming a five-wicket haul against Tamil Nadu in the Ranji Trophy second round at Chennai. The veteran bowler, who previously coached at Sherwood College before Uttarakhand entered first-class cricket, credited his development to playing league cricket in Yorkshire and seeking guidance from Ravindra Jadeja.
