Ishan Kishan has been ruled out of India's second T20I against New Zealand at Hagley Oval due to a low-grade right adductor strain. The BCCI confirmed the injury occurred during the opening match, paving the way for 15-year-old batter Vaibhav Sooryavanshi to potentially return to the playing XI as India seeks to extend its 1-0 lead in the five-match series.
India previously won the series opener in a record chase, successfully surpassing New Zealand's total of 225/4 with two balls remaining. Glenn Phillips top-scored for New Zealand with an unbeaten 82, while contributions from Sanju Samson, Shreyas Iyer, and Naman Dhir helped seal the victory for India.
