The Story in 60 Seconds

Oklahoma City Thunder guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander saw his historic 141-game streak of scoring at least 20 points come to an end during a 96-84 victory over the Denver Nuggets. SGA finished with 17 points on 6-for-19 shooting across 35 minutes of action. Rather than staying on the court to score the remaining three points against Denver's reserves, Gilgeous-Alexander voluntarily asked out of the game.

Thunder head coach Mark Daigneault commended his star's decision, calling it a demonstration of tremendous class. Gilgeous-Alexander explained postgame that he requested the substitution out of respect for the game after Denver emptied their bench with 1:43 remaining. Looking ahead, the two-time MVP expressed confidence about having many more games to potentially build another scoring streak.
