The Story in 60 Seconds

Southampton midfielder James Ward-Prowse is set to face former club West Ham United this weekend after reviving his career following his summer departure. The 31-year-old rejoined Southampton on a permanent transfer in August on a two-year contract after enduring a difficult and strained relationship under West Ham manager Nuno Espirito Santo, who previously ostracized him at Nottingham Forest and cast him out of first-team training at Rush Green.

Ward-Prowse spent the second half of last season on loan at Burnley before departing West Ham permanently. Under Southampton manager Tonda Eckert, Ward-Prowse has scored once and provided one assist in nine league appearances as Southampton push for promotion in the Championship.
