J.J. Watt will be the full-time lead NFL game analyst for CBS Sports, filling the role previously held by Tony Romo.

CBS Sports announced a new multiyear agreement on Thursday naming JJ Watt as its full-time lead NFL game analyst. Watt, who had been filling the role on an interim basis this season alongside play-by-play announcer Jim Nantz and sideline reporter Tracy Wolfson, replaces Tony Romo as the network's top game analyst.
Watt initially joined CBS in 2023 following his 12-year NFL playing career before moving into game broadcasting. CBS parted ways with Romo earlier this month following Romo's drunken driving arrest in July, and Watt is now scheduled to call Super Bowl LXII for the network in February 2028.
