The Magpies named Afner Ca in their match day squad for the encounter with Aston Villa - but it doesn't look like a one-off…

Newcastle United have put 19-year-old striker Afner Ca on standby for their upcoming Premier League fixture against Crystal Palace. The 6ft 4in forward has trained with the first team all week under manager Matthias Jaissle after previously being included as warm-up cover against Aston Villa.
Ca joined Newcastle on a five-year contract from Levante in the summer and has scored three goals for the Under-21 side. Sporting director Ross Wilson previously praised the teenager's growth, and Jaissle could hand him a senior opportunity as part of his vision for the club.
