A Los Angeles bar group nearly doubled a $60,000 bet against the Dodgers, which stemmed from genius reasoning.

An anonymous Los Angeles bar group revealed the strategy behind placing a $60,000 bet against the Los Angeles Dodgers during the NLCS. The group, which operates 25 venues, hedged against the loss of customer foot traffic and business revenue if the Dodgers failed to advance to the World Series.
According to a report from Los Angeles Magazine, the group reasoned that World Series foot traffic would easily cover the lost wager if the Dodgers won. The gamble paid off after the Dodgers were swept in the NLCS, allowing the venue operators to nearly double their $60,000 investment.
