New York Knicks star Jalen Brunson praised the Boston Celtics ahead of their matchup on Friday, October 23, noting that Boston's playing style helped shape how the Knicks built their championship roster. Both teams enter the game with 0-1 records after dropping their opening-night fixtures, with Boston suffering a fourth-quarter collapse against the Detroit Pistons.
The game also marks the first time Celtics center Mitchell Robinson will face his former team since signing with Boston during the offseason. Robinson revealed that he skipped watching the Knicks' championship ring ceremony following his difficult performance against Detroit, emphasizing that his primary focus is simply helping Boston bounce back.
