Charlotte Hornets starters Kon Knueppel and Coby White have been ruled out for the team's matchup against the Atlanta Hawks. Both players sustained injuries during training camp and sat out the entire preseason, with Knueppel nursing a left hamstring strain and White dealing with a left calf strain. Despite their absences, Charlotte opened the regular season with a 110-103 road victory against the Brooklyn Nets.
Writer Eric Smith reports that while Knueppel's mild strain appears short-term with a potential return before October ends, White's recurring calf issues pose a greater concern. Head Coach Charles Lee is managing player workloads conservatively, leaving backcourt duties primarily to Dennis Schroder and Christian Anderson Jr. until White is cleared.
