Ex-Patriots LB Brandon Spikes Shares Disdain for Former Ravens RB Ray Rice

Former New England Patriots linebacker Brandon Spikes expressed his lasting disdain for former Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice during an appearance on Bussin' With The Boys. Spikes revealed that former Patriots head coach Bill Belichick specifically drafted him in 2010 to counter Rice and halt Baltimore's rushing attack, adding that his on-field motivation was further intensified by personal animosity.

The rivalry escalated in 2014 following the public release of footage showing Rice assaulting his then-fiancée, prompting Spikes to publicly condemn Rice on social media. The article also notes Spikes embraced an aggressive role during his career, maintaining similar intense on-field rivalries with former Buffalo Bills quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick.
