The Houston Texans could help C.J. Stroud amid his hot start with a trade for Quenton Nelson of the Indianapolis Colts.

A trade proposal from Heavy Sports suggests the Houston Texans acquire Indianapolis Colts offensive guard Quenton Nelson to bolster pass protection for quarterback C.J. Stroud. Under the pitched trade scenario, Houston would receive Nelson and a 2027 seventh-round pick in exchange for guard Ed Ingram, a 2027 third-round pick, and a 2028 second-round selection ahead of the 2026 trade deadline.
Nelson is currently playing on an expiring four-year, $80 million contract, making him a potential rental option. CBS Sports analyst Garrett Podell noted that trading within the AFC South could drive up Indianapolis' asking price, though Nelson would serve as a major upgrade for a Houston offensive line facing ongoing scrutiny.
