The Houston Texans have officially ruled out running back David Montgomery, safeties Jalen Pitre and Reed Blankenship, and offensive tackle Blake Fisher for their Week 7 matchup against the New York Giants. The absences leave Houston without two starting safeties, while Montgomery and Pitre are now set to miss their second consecutive game.
Texans head coach DeMeco Ryans previously noted that Montgomery is considered week-to-week after suffering a groin injury during Week 5 against the Tennessee Titans. Prior to the injury, Montgomery had appeared in five games for Houston in 2026, totaling 138 rushing yards and three total touchdowns.
