The Red Wings continue scouting Canadiens players despite Dylan Larkin leaving Montreal off his trade list, keeping hopes of a potential deal alive.

The Montreal Canadiens remain interested in acquiring Detroit Red Wings center Dylan Larkin, despite Montreal being excluded from his 10-team trade list. During Montreal's 1-0 shootout victory against Detroit, Canadiens fans chanted their desire for Larkin to join the team. According to TSN's Pierre LeBrun, the Red Wings are actively scouting Montreal in person to prepare in case Larkin approves a trade there.
Larkin's trade list includes contenders like Florida, Minnesota, Vegas, Carolina, Colorado, Dallas, New Jersey, Utah, Tampa Bay, and Washington. The Canadiens seek a permanent second-line center behind Nick Suzuki, but securing Larkin depends entirely on convincing the Detroit captain to approve a move to Montreal.
