“It’s very hard to bottle him up.”

Chicago Bears head coach Ben Johnson praised New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye following Chicago's 30-24 victory on Thursday Night Football. Johnson described Maye as an "outstanding player" who presents a dangerous combination of deep-ball passing and scrambling ability. Maye completed 24 of 31 passes for 321 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception, while also adding a goal-line rushing touchdown.
Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel also commended Maye's competitiveness despite a costly late second-quarter end-zone turnover. The game featured a showdown between Maye and Bears quarterback Caleb Williams, who were drafted third and first overall respectively in 2024. Williams threw for 308 yards and two touchdowns to secure Chicago's win.
