It’s been encouraging for the team captain to see, but the Rangers still are ironing out certain aspects that have led to leaving some points on the table early in this 84-game campaign.

New York Rangers captain J.T. Miller has highlighted defensive zone commitment, physicality in one-on-one battles, and offensive variety as key improvements for the team to start the 2026-27 season. Speaking in Ottawa, the 33-year-old forward noted that while these strides are encouraging, the Rangers are still working to resolve inconsistencies that have cost them early points.
Miller also expressed satisfaction with his personal form following an injury-plagued previous campaign. Skating on the second line alongside Tye Kartye and Pavel Dorofeyev, Miller noted that their unit mirrors the team's overall trajectory by producing effective stretches while waiting for consistent results.
