Edmonton recalled goaltender Matt Tomkins from the AHL on an emergency basis.

The Edmonton Oilers announced on Friday that goaltender Devon Levi has been placed on injured reserve due to an undisclosed injury. In response, the Oilers recalled goaltender Matt Tomkins from their AHL affiliate, the Bakersfield Condors, under emergency conditions. Tristan Jarry is expected to start in goal for Edmonton against the Toronto Maple Leafs on Saturday.
Levi missed practice on Friday following a strong start to the season, posting a 6-1-0 record across seven appearances. The 32-year-old Tomkins joins the roster having played in six career NHL games, providing coverage for an Oilers squad that sits at 8-1-1 through their first 10 games.
