Villarreal visit Valencia in battle of underperforming clubs: Can Tani Oluwaseyi continue scoring form?

Underperforming regional rivals Villarreal and Valencia face off on Saturday at the Estadio de Mestalla in the Derbi de la Comunitat. Villarreal enter the match in 12th place in LaLiga, led by Canadian striker Tani Oluwaseyi, who has recently scored against Napoli and Liverpool in European competition. Relegation-threatened Valencia sit near the bottom of the table under manager Javier Aguirre, having recorded just one win from their opening nine league fixtures.

Manager Iñigo Pérez must balance his squad with an upcoming cup match against CE Manacor, while winger Tajon Buchanan remains in contention after returning from a hamstring injury. Historically, the derby is narrowly contested, with Valencia holding 25 wins to Villarreal's 24 across 63 official meetings.
