Chicago White Sox manager Will Venable has been named the Sporting News AL Manager of the Year after guiding the team to an 84-win campaign and a postseason berth in 2026. The 43-year-old manager led a major turnaround following a 60-102 record in 2025 and a franchise-worst 41 wins in 2024.
Under Venable, Chicago swept the Houston Astros in the Wild Card Series before falling to Cleveland in five games during the ALDS. Venable became the sixth manager in White Sox history to win the award and the franchise's first recipient since Ozzie Guillén in 2005.
