Rapper Cordae addressed his breakup with tennis star Naomi Osaka and hinted at expecting a second child in a new track titled "Helpless." The song is featured on his collaborative album Heavy Is the Crown with Anderson .Paak, released on October 23. In the lyrics, Cordae reflects on raising their daughter Shai across separate households following the couple's official split in January 2025.
Osaka and Cordae dated beginning in 2019 and welcomed Shai in July 2023. Meanwhile, Osaka recently reached the round of 16 at the China Open before withdrawing from Wuhan to recover from an Achilles issue. Ranked world No. 19, she is scheduled to compete as the eighth seed at the Toray Pan Pacific Open in Tokyo.
