The Toronto Blue Jays could look to sign another Japanese player this offseason in an intriguing and bold move.

The Toronto Blue Jays have been identified as a potential landing spot for Japanese pitcher Kaima Taira, according to JaysNation analyst Cynthia Ryley Delaney. Toronto is expected to be aggressive this offseason as it seeks pitching depth, and Taira is projected to be posted for MLB teams to sign as a permanent addition to the rotation or bullpen.
Taira posted a 12-5 record with a 1.36 ERA during his most recent season in Nippon Professional Baseball. Delaney noted that Taira could serve as a dependable back-end starter for the Blue Jays, who previously added overseas talent by signing Kazuma Okamoto.
