San Francisco 49ers trade pitch reunites WR Mike Evans with ex-teammate.

A trade proposal by The Athletic's Daniel Popper suggests the San Francisco 49ers acquire Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Chris Godwin before the November 10 deadline. The proposed trade would reunite Godwin with former Buccaneers teammate Mike Evans as the unbeaten 49ers seek reinforcement amid widespread receiver injuries.
Godwin signed a three-year, $66 million contract extension with Tampa Bay in 2025 and carries a $22 million base salary for 2026. San Francisco is dealing with injuries across its receiving corps, including Evans, De'Zhaun Stribling, DeMarcus Robinson, Christian Kirk, and Ricky Pearsall.
