Former Newcastle United winger Allan Saint-Maximin has praised Crystal Palace manager Pierre Sage, describing him as one of the best coaches of his career. Saint-Maximin played under Sage at French club Lens, winning the French Cup together before moving to MLS side Charlotte FC, while Sage took over at Selhurst Park during the summer.
Sage faces mounting pressure at Crystal Palace following a 5-0 loss to Brighton ahead of hosting Newcastle United on Sunday. Newcastle head coach Matthias Jaissle also enters the fixture aiming to recover from consecutive league defeats against Coventry and Aston Villa.
