Chicago Bears tight end Cole Kmet will miss the remainder of the season after suffering a right knee injury, head coach Ben Johnson confirmed on Friday. The 27-year-old was carted off the field late in the fourth quarter of the Bears' 30-24 victory over the New England Patriots on Thursday.
Kmet, a key contributor to Chicago's rushing attack as an elite blocking tight end, had recorded 10 catches for 87 yards this season. With Kmet placed on injured reserve, rookie Sam Roush is expected to see increased playing time, while defensive end Montez Sweat was reinstated to fill the open roster spot following a two-game suspension.
