The New York Yankees have agreed to a three-year contract extension with pitching coach Matt Blake, according to a report from MLB Network insider Jon Heyman. The club has not officially confirmed the agreement. Blake, 41, has served as the Yankees' pitching coach since November 2019, and his previous contract was scheduled to expire following the conclusion of the 2026 World Series.
Under Blake's guidance, the Yankees ranked third in ERA (3.69) across Major League Baseball from 2020 through 2026. The reported extension is part of New York's broader effort to maintain continuity in leadership ahead of 2027, following a recent new deal for general manager Brian Cashman.
