The Pittsburgh Pirates used their 2026 second round pick on Chris Rembert, who hit the ground running to start his pro career.

Pittsburgh Baseball Now ranked second baseman Chris Rembert as the Pittsburgh Pirates' No. 8 prospect. The Pirates selected Rembert from Auburn University with the 51st overall pick in the supplemental second round of the 2026 draft, signing him for more than $400,000 above slot value.
Rembert played 18 games for Low-A Bradenton to begin his professional career, slashing .284/.415/.343 with nine stolen bases. Pirates assistant general manager Kevin Graves praised Rembert's contact skills, plate discipline, and collegiate track record in the SEC.
