The Boston Red Sox have promoted Liam Carroll to manager of the Double-A Portland Sea Dogs as he continues to rise through the ranks at a rapid pace.
The Boston Red Sox have promoted coach Liam Carroll to become the new manager of the Double-A Portland Sea Dogs, according to a report by Tommy Cassell. The move follows organizational shifts on October 21, which saw former Double-A manager Chad Epperson promoted to lead the Triple-A Worcester Red Sox after Chad Tracy took over as Boston's major league manager.
Carroll previously managed the Single-A Salem affiliate beginning in 2023 before guiding the High-A Greenville Drive in 2025. Over four seasons, Carroll has secured over 200 minor league managerial victories while coaching prominent prospects including Roman Anthony and Payton Tolle.
