Jiri Kulich will not be available against the Washington Capitals after suffering an injury during practice. It has forced the Buffalo Sabres to potentially try out a new top line on Saturday.

The Buffalo Sabres will introduce a new top forward line against the Washington Capitals after center Jiri Kulich was ruled out due to an injury. Kulich stayed behind in Buffalo for testing after being struck in the face by a puck during Friday's practice, though head coach Lindy Ruff noted he could potentially rejoin the team later on their road trip.
With Kulich sidelined, Tage Thompson is set to center a reconstructed top line featuring veteran Jason Zucker and Konsta Helenius. Zucker recently returned to score in his season debut, while the Sabres hope the promotion helps jumpstart Helenius following a quiet start to the campaign.
