Guardians relievers Connor Brogdon and Carlos Hernández are now minor league free agents.

Cleveland Guardians relief pitchers Carlos Hernández and Connor Brogdon both elected free agency after finishing the 2026 season off the 40-man roster in the minor leagues. Both players made major league appearances for Cleveland during the season before being designated for assignment.
Brogdon made the Opening Day roster on a $900,000 deal, posting a 5.28 ERA across 15 1/3 innings before multiple roster moves. Hernández returned from serious offseason crash injuries to make a brief September appearance. The writer notes that losing both pitchers reduces Cleveland's upper-level pitching depth heading into the offseason.
