COLE PALMER has been sent for an early bath just minutes after escaping a red card for slamming Mateus Fernandes. A rainy day in West London proved disastrous for 21-year-old Mike Penders after the ball slipped into his OWN net…

Cole Palmer sparked outrage among supporters and pundits after escaping a direct red card following a heated clash with Mateus Fernandes during Chelsea's 2-0 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur. The England playmaker initially received a yellow card from referee Chris Kavanagh during a pitch melee, but he was eventually sent off in the 80th minute after collecting a second yellow for a late challenge on Conor Gallagher.
Tottenham secured the victory at Stamford Bridge courtesy of an own goal by Chelsea goalkeeper Mike Penders and a strike from Matteus Tel. The defeat halted Xabi Alonso's side's bid to move level with third-placed Brighton, while Roberto De Zerbi's Tottenham climbed to 12th in the Premier League table.
