Reports from BILD and Sky Sport Germany indicate an emergency helicopter also landed at the facility before Kompany was transported. Bayern Munich officially confirmed the hospitalization of their coach, with reports describing his current condition as stable under observation.

Kompany had been weakened by a viral infection for several days, which reportedly aggravated old scars and caused leg and hip issues. Despite feeling unwell, Kompany managed recent matches against RB Leipzig and Arsenal, although assistant Aaron Danks covered media duties. Sky reported that Kompany fainted following Friday's training session before receiving immediate medical attention.
