The Story in 60 Seconds

New York Jets edge rusher Will McDonald IV has emerged as a potential trade candidate ahead of the NFL trade deadline on November 10. SNY insider Connor Hughes labeled McDonald a prime candidate to be moved if the Jets struggle over their next three games, noting he may not fit defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn's scheme as well as Robert Saleh's previous system. Hughes identified the Atlanta Falcons, led by defensive coordinator Jeff Ulbrich, as a potential destination.

The Athletic's Daniel Popper also ranked McDonald at No. 20 among 50 players who could be traded before the deadline, citing the San Francisco 49ers, New England Patriots, Cleveland Browns, and Dallas Cowboys as best fits. The Jets previously exercised McDonald's fifth-year option for $13.75 million guaranteed in 2027, making the pass rusher one of general manager Darren Mougey's most valuable trade assets.
