Newcastle United are considering one or two changes ahead of the clash with Crystal Palace…

Newcastle United manager Matthias Jaissle has addressed the roles of veteran defenders Dan Burn and Fabian Schar ahead of the match against Crystal Palace. Both 34-year-olds have seen limited playing time this season due to injuries, with Jaissle predominantly starting Sven Botman and Malick Thiaw in central defense. However, Jaissle praised the duo's leadership and noted that both players are steadily improving physically in training.
Jaissle emphasized that he expects players to be dissatisfied with sitting on the bench, welcoming their competitive mentality. Burn, who was appointed club captain by Jaissle following the departures of Bruno Guimaraes and Sandro Tonali, remains a core part of the squad's leadership group alongside Joelinton, Malick Thiaw, Yoane Wissa, and Lewis Miley as Newcastle prepares to face Palace.
