The Story in 60 Seconds

Blake Coleman scored twice to snap a seven-game goal drought, leading the Minnesota Wild to a 5-1 victory over the Seattle Kraken at Climate Pledge Arena. Coleman gave the Wild the lead on a second-period breakaway fresh out of the penalty box, followed by an empty-net goal late in the third period. Kirill Kaprizov, Olli Määttä, and Joel Eriksson Ek also scored for Minnesota, while Jesper Wallstedt earned his seventh win of the season.

Following a difficult stretch on the penalty kill during their road trip, the Wild rebounded with a strong second-period penalty kill that shifted momentum. Off the ice, head coach John Hynes addressed losing defenseman Daemon Hunt, who was claimed off waivers by the Nashville Predators after Minnesota sought roster and cap flexibility following the returns of Jared Spurgeon and Määttä.
