Drake Batherson’s four point night helped the Senators fend off a strong third period comeback push by the Rangers on Saturday.

Drake Batherson recorded his third career NHL hat trick and added an assist to lead the Ottawa Senators to a 7-4 victory over the New York Rangers at Canadian Tire Centre. Tim Stützle, Dylan Cozens, Jake Sanderson, and Michael Amadio also scored for Ottawa as they held off a third-period comeback attempt by New York.
The Rangers responded with goals from Will Cuylle, J.T. Miller, Alexis Lafrenière, and Pavel Dorofeyev, but empty-net goals from Amadio and Batherson sealed the win. Goaltender Jonas Johansson earned the start for Ottawa in place of the injured Linus Ullmark, while the Rangers played without injured netminder Igor Shesterkin.
