Tyrell Malacia says he has no regrets over his Manchester United spell, despite training with the youth sides after being frozen out at Carrington.

Former Manchester United left-back Tyrell Malacia stated he has no regrets about his four years at Old Trafford, despite being frozen out and forced to train with academy squads. Malacia joined Major League Soccer club FC Cincinnati in September 2026 after his United contract expired in the summer, having made only 11 appearances across his final three seasons in England due to severe knee injuries and selection decisions.
Malacia revealed that manager Michael Carrick blocked a potential departure in January 2026 to maintain squad depth behind Luke Shaw. The 27-year-old Dutch defender has since signed a contract with FC Cincinnati running through June 2027, where he has quickly integrated into the lineup and targeted consistent playing time following his lengthy injury setbacks.
