Aaron Ashby’s cool head has the Brewers two wins away from their first-ever World Series championship.

Milwaukee Brewers relief pitcher Aaron Ashby is making postseason history after delivering another scoreless outing to secure a Game 2 World Series victory. Nursing a one-run lead in the ninth inning, Ashby struck out Yandy Diaz with the tying run at third base to finish the game. Ashby has now thrown 15.2 consecutive scoreless innings across eight appearances this postseason.
Manager Pat Murphy praised Ashby's multi-inning ability, comparing his dominant run to Goose Gossage. Ashby, who credited an improved mental approach and religious faith for his calm demeanor under pressure, holds a postseason stat line that includes three saves, five hits allowed, and 17 strikeouts while leading Milwaukee within two wins of a title.
